I am reviewing two brands of Thermal Water today.
A lot of people might have the perception of why should I pay so much for a bottle of water?
Well of course this isn't the regular water from the taps but from the the mountains in France.
If you happen to have sensitive skin, these products are HIGHLY RECOMMENDED because it does not contain any other ingredients other than spring water.
Some characteristics of thermal water:
-Rich in trace elements
-Low mineral content
-Bacteriologically pure
-pH 7
Can be used for different purposes such as sunburn, after anti-acne treatments, diaper rash, irritations, to complete cleansing, to set makeup etc.
Basically, the contents are more or less the same, with cations and anions.
One particular ingredient that La Roche-Posay differentiates itself from the others is Selenium.
Selenium is an antioxidant that helps to guard against skin-ageing. That was what attracted me to try it out.
Comparing Avene and La Roche-Posay, I prefer Avene even though it doesn't contain Selenium.
Avene's water particles are smaller than LRP's, I would say this is due to its nozzle spray design.
Avene's thermal water absorbs into the skin faster and the skin feels instantly refreshed.
I even bought the travel-size one to carry around and refresh my face whenever my skin feels dry, especially during this horrible hot weather.
I remember during my trip to Las Vegas, the coach's air-con was faulty and the driver opened the escape door on the roof for ventilation. The air was so dry (I was in the middle of a desert!) and the coach was stuffy. I was so thankful that I had the travel-size Avene thermal spray and I just sprayed on my whole body and the temperature on my skin instantly cooled down.
RATING: Avene: 5/5
Will I repurchase? YES!
La Roche-Posay: 4/5
Will I repurchase? Maybe.. if they improve on the nozzle spray
Till next time!
